Simple brake pad swap, what am I missing here?

I've changed the pads countless times in the 165k miles I've put on my Camry. Today was one more change, put the new pads in and everything was fine. However this time, the brake light is not going out. Brake fluid is right under the "max" line, so it should not be on. What else could keep the brake light on? The only indicator is in the reservoir, right? Or am I missing something?

How did you bleed them?
I could be all wet here, but bleeding only one end of the car can knock the proportioning valve off center; meaning the system thinks a pressure imbalance occured. Have someone help you manually bleed the brakes. While the pedal is down, crack both ends before letting the pedal up. It should recenter the valve.

The thing is my 95 does not have a wires on the proportioning valve so they are not monitoring the front and rear balance from there. But it is being done. I just don't see where.

Yea. I have a feeling the back brakes need changing too, don't think they've been done more than once in all these years. I'll go ahead and flush the system again and see.

Maybe the sensor simply went bad?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a minute and then reconnecting it?

Good idea, I'll give that a shot when I get it back from being painted.
