Engine did not like cleaning

1994 Camry 4 cylinder.

Using a pressure washer I cleaned the engine and engine compartment. The after effect was the engine runs very rough, has no power and the engine light came on. I did notice a crack in the hose from the breather filter to the intake. This has been replaced. The mistake here was I ran the engine while I cleaned it so a possibility of water in the intake is there.
My thoughts are water in the ignition system or I did get water in the intake and have some injector issues now?
This is a spare care we kept because it has maybe 160000 miles and we had it repainted last summer. I also was thinking of giving it to a family member who has a need for this vehicle.
Any thoughts on a process of steps to take?

Thanks in advance,

Welcome aboard! I'd suggest you get aqainted with the search button as many of these topics have been delt with before.

At glance, I guess your distributor cap is full of water.
Remove the cap, spray it with electronic contact cleaner, I suppose brake cleaner may be OK on the CAP only. Allow it to air out if you find moisture droplets. Clean and dry the spark plug wires if still damp.

Unless you held the water stream at an open port or hole, I doubt a quick wash filled the engine to a point that running for 5 minutes wouldn't clear it out.

It's highly likely that if you just let the car sit, the moisture will dry up and the car will run fine. I've washed my engine bay before and had the same problem. The one time, water got into the service connector and the check engine light was on because of it, I dried that up and the light went out. (I put grease in the connector and also put a piece of small plastic under the connector cover).

BTW, never run the engine while washing it, and never wash the engine when it is very hot.

Yeah best bet it to let it dry out, disconnect the battery to reset the check engine light.

Unplug each of the four spark plug boots as more than likely water got into the spark plug tubes and it causing a short. Let that air out for a couple days.
