personally, if ur not upgrading sound...dont buy a aftermarket head unit. its just another excuse for sum1 to break into ur car. now if u plan on doing sound upgrades... then by all means do it. thats what ima do later down the road. just use a tape deck adapter. u can get one at walmart for like $10. or bestbuy for $25. (on these...u get what u pay for. my walmart one broke in a month) so i would 100% do this. not an upgraded deck.
i recomend this one. i have it and its great.
Any single DIN will work, and if you're planning to upgrade the head unit.. your sound will be much better even on the stock speakers. If your needs are just the AUX input (probably for ipod or mp3 player) just look for that without tape or CD and it should be around the $50 mark. I got one that includes CD + aux for $65
Been real happy with Pioneer products, got a DEH-P6100BT in there now. It runs 1/8th DIN, USB, iPod, CD, CD-MP3, Blue Tooth, AM/FM. . . Easy install and detach face.
If you use the ipod USB cable, you have control like the ipod wheel itself. Otherwise just use the front USB port and shove a 16gb jump drive in it. It'll hold a ton of MP3's!

thats the problem, its only am/fm stock stereo no tape or cd so i have to upgrade the head unit because i hate fm transmitter they all suck
OOOooooo. well then... from personal experience, ALPINE is my fav by FAR. pioneer is a close 2nd. kenwood is good but the menus are so damn confusing.. and whatever u do, STAY AWAY FROM SONY. their home audio is A+++ but their mobil audio...F. (if i were u, i would get the cheapest alpine or pioneer i could find) crutchfield.com is my fav site for car audio. great customer support and the whoole shebang.
i would get this one if i were in ur shoes(alpines cheapwest model)$99 http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500CDE1...0.html?tp=5684
this one is nice as well. pioneer is my 2nd fav as stated above. $89 http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130DEH1...E.html?tp=5684
here is the same pioneer model. just no remote(idk y u even need one anyways) $79 http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1301200...P.html?tp=5684
i dont ever buy used audio equipment. cuz teh 1 time i did, the head unit worked for like 15 min fine with no problems...then just shut off. so go new.
good luck

What have u guys heard about DUAL head units there cheap and look nice anyone have experience with them?
Exactly, they're cheap. They play music, that's it. Don't get me wrong, if you just want something that will play music, not cost very much, don't care about sound quality or options, and are willing to gamble on build quality then get a DUAL. They are great for people that are cheap and don't care about a stereo.
One of my friends got a DUAL in dash DVD player/stereo. It worked great and never broke. The only downside was that you could tell it didn't sound anywhere near as good as a Pioneer. I think he even got it for $200, which is damn cheap for an in dash DVD player/stereo with fold up screen.
Ultimately, you get what you pay for in a car stereo.

i think ive decided on this head unit what do u guys think
YAY! thats the one i suggested ive had nothing but good with pioneer. my friend has his same one from 6yrs ago!! lol. i mean,...it is out of date. but it works! u will be happy with it. dont forget when u add it to your cart, to select your camry. u will need the trim piece to fit it into ur dash. they r free from crutchfield with a deck of $129.99 or more. (another reason i love that site). it will be $24.99 for the installation pocket/trim piece with the harness. so ur lookin at $104.97 for everything. good luck with it. post pice after install.
and im glad u didnt pay $10 extra for the 1 with the remote. a remote for a car stero?... the epitome of lazyness. if u cant lift ur arm to change the station...dont drive a car. haha
