SOMEBODY HELLP PLEASE!!!! switch problem

i have a 1996 v6. my switch does not work for my parking lights on the handle with the headlights. so it clicks twice. the first for the parking lights then the second for the headlights. the first click doesnt work so my parking lights dont turn on but i do the second click my headlights turn on. all the bulbs still work. anybody know whats wrong and how i can fix it? please help!!!

That's very odd. First things first, check all the fuses including the ones behind the coin drawer. My best guess would be that the switch/handle itself is bad. I'd pull the cover behind the steering wheel (couple of screws and clips hold it on) and remove the switch. Then test all the wires with a multimeter while looking at the wiring guide for the car.

Sounds crazy, but does it have an aftermarket radio? I've seen tape fall off that illumination wire for the radio and it shorts out the parking light circuit.
