Hesitation on startup

This is not a new problem, but I'm just now getting bothered by it.

Sometimes when I go to start my car this happens:
http://v3.tinypic.com/player.swf?file=33fanmc&s=3

And other times, this happens:

http://v3.tinypic.com/player.swf?file=119p4js&s=3

The first video shows me starting the car, but then it dies suddenly, then starting it again.

The second video is me holding the key until it starts and it seems to make a weird noise in the middle.

It always takes me longer to startup.

Edit: Sorry, I cant figure out how to embed the videos.

The second vid sounds very similar to my cars problem which was the iac valve not opening and closing when it would've. I fixed it by taking the throttle body and iac off and cleaning everything with deepcreep and then putting a thin layer of moly grease on the iac valve so it wont stick anymore. problem solved ever since but it might not be your problem just throwing it out there

thanks, I'll try that. Think throttle body cleaner would work well enough or should I seafoam it?

I used deep creep and it worked very well but i still had to do some cleaning that just spraying would never take care of, seafoam should be fine really all your doing is trying to get all the visible carbon out and make sure there are no clogs in the throttle body ports and the iac. Before you do anything to the iac you can open and close the valve manually see if its sticking or if its a little hesitant to open and close it should close pretty quick and smoothly. mine was sticking at first after the cleaning and lube it opened and closed with ease. You can reuse the gaskets from the throttle body and iac if there not damaged. Put the moly grease on last the seafoam or cleaner will take the grease off

Good shit man did you put grease on the iac valve if not it might stick later on. Lubing the iac valve is basically what solved my cold start problems completely there wasnt really carbon blocking any air flow ports when i looked around which surprised the shit out of me lol like i said it was the valves fault not carbon.

No I didn't. It was raining and I didn't feel like doing much. Do I need to take it off completely to lube it?
