One possibility...

When you turn the key in the lock, the cylinder your turning has a clip on it that attaches to a control rod that actuates the locking mechanism. If the control rod comes out of the clip, or the clip breaks, etc., then turning the key will do nothing because you're no longer moving the control rod.

Just had that problem on one of my Camrys. The control rod had popped out of the clip for some reason. I was able to take the door panel off and pop the rod back into the clip.

I see that all the time.

As a T. Parts Counter Jockey i have people come in all the time w that issue.

Most of the time a new key made from T. Key Code takes care of that situation.

Most times. Sometimes you must replace the lock cylinder. And it doesn't come keyed to your vehicle. So you should ask what locksmith the dealer uses. It will save some headache calling various locksmiths.

Ask at the parts counter. The service department has no interest in helping you to do it yourself.

OK....I looked for a transmitter remote for gen3 and cannot find that in reg. T. EPC.

I'm wondering if your car came w that remote? Or if it was an aftermarket job.

If T.brand the it was ordered w the car as an accessory, anyway I was just trying to find the
T. part #.
