Canada New Camry Owner

Hi

Just picked up 1998 Camry XLE V6, live in Ontario Canada. Sold Toyota s 16 years ago.

Having trouble finding info on here. Seems my Vanity/Visor lights are out on both sides and just trying to find out how to replace them and what bulb size to use. The manual says, I think 3 D bulbs?

Also, car came with only one keyless remote, the two button dealer installed system and when we use only the keys to open the car the alarm goes off or when you open the trunk with the key after using the remote the alarm starts also. Do I need to get another remote to unlock the car or can you do it with only a key and if so, how do you avoid setting off the alarm other than getting the key into the ignition.

Any help or comments appreciated.

Thanks,

Rick

I'd just pick up a second remote from ebay and program it yourself. $60 and 5 minutes of your time.

edit: Or, if it was bought at a Toyota dealership, take it back and complain to them. The cars come new with 2 remotes, 2 keys, and a valet key. The dealers are supposed to include all of those even when selling used cars, IIRC.

Thanks, I bought it from a used car dealer and there was only one remote, so I will have to get one from Ebay. Found some there and the FCC ID matches but mine also has a CANADA 2024 101 526 number on it will that mean anything? The one on Ebay says its for a 97 but mine is a 98. Is it ok as long as the FCC ID #s match?

To be 100% sure, i'd make sure they look the same (or at least VERY similar). The FCC ID just has to do with the transmit frequency and strength, not what information is sent in the message on said frequency. I think.
