USA Fogged tail light ??

I just bought a replacement tail light from a local pick-n-pull, mine was cracked. I rinsed off the back side with the garden hose being careful not to get any water inside. It shined up real nice and a few hours later on the car the lens got a fog inside. i can actually see condensation inside between the clear lens and the red/yellow inside lens. I tried sitting it outside for a few hours in the sun as well as blasting out the inside with a can-o-air with no change in appearance. I'm really out of ideas. its been a couple of days now and its still fogged over.
thank much
andrew

Interesting. I would have said put it out in the sunlight for a few hours. Hmmmmm. Maybe take something out of the retrofitter's idea book. Maybe a few 5-minute cycles in the oven at 250 degrees?

A dehumidified room or an oven would be lovely. Try that first.

Cool, I'll give the oven thing a try. its now collected in a puddle at the bottom of the lens and the kitchen smells like plastic, didnt have it in for more than 3 min at 250. with the humidity here at around 85% its kinda hard to get a dry environment. i appreciate the tips.

ok. after a bit of head scratching... i fixed it. i drilled a small hole in the side where the mounting screws go,the lower corner an stuck it in the oven (after shaking a bunch o water out) i didnt turn the oven on an put it on a cookie sheet and just left it be. 1/2 hour later.. almost cleared up. now just dab a bit o super glue to plug the hole.
