3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I forget who told me this but somebody told me it was possible to have rear disc brakes on a 99 camry I4 with 14" wheels, I know they can't be from a wagon or es300 cause those have 15" wheels but I forget where I'm supposed to get it from
As I said when you IMed me, if they were from anywhere it would be the V6 sedan. But i'm not even sure those will clear 14"s.

head to a salvage yard, grab a 14" steelie, and try mounting it onto the rear hub of a gen4 V6(if you can find one). If it fits, you'll have your confirmation that it works.

There's been COUNTLESS threads on how to do this, AND there's a DIY in the sticky thread on the main page.

yeah my 95 wagon came stock with rear disks and 14` steelies. no clearance issues.
Whoaaaa there. The 4 cylinder wagons had the rear disc brakes from the V6 sedan and coupe models (but only if they had ABS, IIRC). Those WILL clear 14" wheels. The V6 Wagon/ES300 and Avalon rear discs NEED 15" wheels.

ah, what is IIRC? my car has no ABS but i believe the window sticker said something like LEV or something. i have it at work ill have to check it out.
If I Remember Correctly. And LEV stands for low emissions vehicle. It has nothing to do with the brakes.
