Hi guys, new to this great forum and have a question on the Torque Strut for a '92 camry. I have just replace the manual trans. and noticed the front mount and the torque strut need replacing but I seem to be having some issues on the strut for the manual trans. Local Toyota dealer tells me the part # 12363-74140 is discontinued. Now I can find the auto struts online but the manual seems to be more difficult. Are these the same or? Or does someone know where I can purchase one (in Canada preferably). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
On a side note Camry has 420,000KM but does not leak or use any oil and still has lots of power so I picked up a tranny (for $350) as I think she still has good life in her.

OP, the maual ones are a bitch to find. Most people don't even list what tranmission they're for (and almost always they're for the auto...damned auto owners)

Look for some pictures of Cody's ride, you'll see them there.
IIRC he also put urethane engine and trans mounts in to keep it stable. I'm guessing that wimpy little bracket will brake over time if your rubber mounts are soft and the brace has little give.
Look in the thread 1st Super Charged 3VZ in the World!!!!!!!!!!! I think its in there. . .

Thanks everyone, I think I'm definitely going to make one. Simple obvious idea and would last a lot longer. Never even thought of that. Glad I found this site great info and helpful peeps.
Thanks again.
This is just a great idea, simple easy to make, and I'll be making me up a set of these right away. Do you think of this style of Heim Joints are overkill?? I like 'em.
Coist you as more or more to make a good one as I sell them for, lol.
And do not use that type (The original style made), use a solid one like in my pics that I sell.

I dunno wtf I even was selling them for, lol. I think it was $65 shipped. I'll do $60USD in case I had them at that price. $65 outside the US.
These are for 92-01 V6's, and use your existing lower and upper brackets for the trannt strut mount. It;s the only mount that is ok to make solid without any consiquences (sp?).
