im having trouble finding clear taillights for my 97 camry. from what I understand they don't make the center tail lights for that year. so here are my options: I can have a bodyshop cut and modify the opening in the trunklid to fit the center taillights from a 00-01 model. or I can buy an entire new trunk lid from a 00-01 and put it on my 97 (pretty sure it will fit) id rather not go that route since its more money. other than that I can just smoke the lights and leave it that way.

what should I do?

First those things are ugly.
Second, a gen 4.5 trunk lid will not fit your gen 4.

I would just smoke the tails maybe.

I didn't realize the trunk lid is diffrent. guess that rules that out.

Yeah the front and rear ends are different, though with enough work they can be made to fit.
