Calif vs Fed

Hello guys,
I am working on doing a 1MZFE engine swap with another one because my car has a seized engine.

The problem is that the old engine is a Fed emissions engine and the "newer" engine is a Calif emissions engine. I know California emission requirements are stricter than Federal, and catalytic converter plays a role in California cars.

What obstacles would I face swapping in a Calif engine to replace a Fed engine?

All positive inputs welcome.

Thanks.

Nothing really. The CA spec engines came with better injectors and air fuel ratio sensors.

Just use your old harness, ECU, and exhaust manifolds, but keep the improved injectors. You won't need to use the pre-catalysts.

So I could find some CA injectors and put them in my Fed 1MZ and it'd be better? Nice. I'll try that!

Not all California 1MZ-FE have air fuel sensors (only post 1997 Toyota - but Lexus 1MZ does have air fuel).

So prior to 1997, the Camry V6 had oxygen sensors for both Federal and California.
