Yeah, I was wrong about 100+, on partznet.com OEM costs $57. But still, 57 bucks + shipping (8.50) for piece of plastic? No way. $8 on Amazon looks more reasonable.

I'd just patch those holes with silicone sealant, then search the salvage yards for a suitable replacement. New or not, I just can't justify paying more than $20 total for that part.

Salvage yards will have same broken (or about to be) coolant reservoirs - no go.
The link I gave above is the brand new tank for $8.
To OP: you can drive as long as you want, this reservoir is not under pressure or something. Maybe just patch the holes by duct tape to avoid dirt going into your coolant.

I faced the same problem and it would've very definitely blown my head gasket. You are lucky as you caught it in time.
I bought one from Amazon for $15+shipping. Dont go to the junkyard as its not worth it. Most of the plastic is in junk condition at the junkyard.
Get it done asap or you risk major problems if you run out of coolant.

No I am not. Those were the days when TN didnt happen to me yet and very new to cars. In my case I found an even bigger hole/crack in the reservoir and all kind of dust and dirt made the coolant gum up like a vulcan rubber
Due to the gumming up and evaporation of coolant there was no mechanism left to dissipate the engine heat. Most likely that would've resulted in engine overheating. Overheating can likely result in cracks in the head gasket especially in a engine with 160K+ miles.I was lucky to catch it way early and save my engine.
Even after I refilled the coolant reservoir the coolant would still bounce around and leak through the cracks/hole. I put a patch using plastic adhesive on that hole till the time a new reservoir arrived from Amazon.
Mine may have been an extreme case but IMHO its better to be safe than be sorry later

My 94 came with holes in the same exact spots, electrical taped at least 50 times wrapped around to seal it haha.
Electrical tape FTMFW!!! I did the same thing but I think I will get an aftermarket one that looks cool, rather than the stock one again.....Mine has held up for 2 years...lol
