Swap over top, or subframe?

Does anyone know a proven "EASIER" way to go about doing a direct swap on a 1MZFE (v6)?

I heard people say drop the subframe. The engine swap I did on my Millenia was doone the regular way (through the top).

If dropping the subframe is better, any tutorial?
I'll gladly appreciate it.

I've always thought it's easier to remove four bolts for the hood and pull from the top than remove the whole subframe and drop it. Plus you need a jack that can lift the car up high enough to get the engine out from under it.

Yes, I thought about the difficulty of jacking the car high enough to remove the engine and subframe together.
I plan to take the "over-the-hood" route.

Thanks for your response.

ive seen this done and discussed many times and the esiest way is in fact to swap the subframe. but that is if your doing like a 4cyl to v6 swap when you can just install ALL components at once mounted on the sub frame. if your jsut replacing the V6, then im sure out of the hood method requires less work.

Yes, I'm swapping a v6 with a v6. No mods except the engine I am putting in is California engine, and a federal emissions standard engine is coming out.
