1998 Toyota Camry : Starting problems.

I have a 1998 Toyota Camry and it has problems starting.
It's a 4 cylinder engine.
When I put the key in the ignition socket and try to turn on the engine, it gives me a chugging(something's blocked/stuck) kinda sound.
After a few clicks the engine starts up and then while running there is no issue.
It's just that its having a difficult time starting up.
Sometimes on some days it just starts up fine.
Past few days its been giving the chugging(blocked/stuck) sound.
I did a DIY throttle body clean using a Toothbrush and some throttle body cleaner that I obtained from Kragen.
I just did a oil change/new oil filter from the dealer a few days back.
Kindly help.

Starter solenoid. Search it theres a good DIY on here.

You can just change the starter if doing the rebuild seems hard. Its a piece of cake on this car.

If you are hearing 1 click you most likely have the worn starter solenoid contacts problem that carsrus is referring to. If you are hearing multiple rapid clicks then you most likely have a weak battery, or corroded connections at the battery terminals themselves (most common) or at the starter end.

I just had this problem. The clicking however got worse and worse with time. It was so bad it would click 10-12 times before starting. My starter benched tested fine, but failed to run in the car. It was probably the solenoid but I wanted a whole new starter to begin with.
