Try bending the end of the hanger downward, to make a kind of hook. That's probably the easiest cheapest way of making it work. Can you get a closeup of the hanger?

Sounds like someone botched the install as they didn't position it correctly and then depending on which way the hanger faces, the pipe gets little bit longer as it heats up. Plus you have engine movement and all that stuff. . .

Take it back and have them lengthen or shorten the pipe to center the hanger or PF suggests, bend the hanger.

I see a coat hanger in your future!

Another option is to get a depth/stop collar like this and add a washer. Hopefully there's enough of the shaft sticking out past the hanger to slip one of these on the hanger support. Cinch it down, and the hanger should stay put.

^^ the downside is that if its under strain and truly wishes to be pulled through the hanger then its going to strain the pipe, hangers ect and cause vibrations.

Obviously this under "no load" when being observed so who knows what it does when on the gas, breaking, doing donuts ect. . . .

id there a barb or flare at the end of that metal hanger? my megan didnt have one and that woudl cause it to slip out. its a simple fox, just take it to a shop and ask them to either weld a ball bearing or something that will put some sort of lip on the end of the catback hanger.
