Power Window Problem

Hi, I am a newbie here. I have a 1992 Camry and yesterday as I powered the windows to close there was a cracking sound and the window went down again. Today I have taken the drivers side door panel off. The motor is working and the cable runs up and down but it does not lift the window. I can lift the window manually. Is there a clip broken, it's difficult to see anything. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Since the door panel is off. look at the window itself, on the bottom off it there are 2 plastic tabs, one on each side. These actually bolt to the regulator itself. Check to see if their broken. If so youll need a glass replacement (look in salvage yards). Otherwise if the motor is working youll have a regulator problem.

^ Exactly. I'd be willing to bet the window regulator went out if there's no problems with the glass. You can't replace just the motor, so you'd want to get the entire regulator. Shouldn't be more than $150.

Jeez. I over paid for mine. OEM Toyota was about $110, IIRC.
