1992 lexus es300 transmission

hi guys im new here
i have a couple questions for you
i bought a 92es300 for parts ans to swap the transmission
in my 1995 lexus
where do i find the transmission code?
and has anyone ever swapped a automatic to manual transmission?

question 1: door jam
question 2: um yes.
note the 92 and 95 ES300 transmissions are slightly different.

so if i read correctly
the axles off of the 92 will not fit on the 1995?
thats a bummer!!!

and what is the difference between the transmissions?

The part numbers are different for sure. I don't know exactly what is different between the transmissions, but either way you can't mix n match the axles between years. Here are the exact production dates that you can use.

7/1991-7/1993
8/1993-7/1996

edit - to clarify, it doesn't mean you can't put the '92 tranny in your car, it's a matter of how far you are willing to go. You might have to start retrograding suspension components, mounts etc. The actual unibody is the same so it is ultimately possible, but worth it? Not sure.
