94 Camry - No brake pressure

The last couple days I've had next to no brake pressure. A day or two before that I replaced the T-belt side engine motor mount (doubt it's related, but thought I'd mention it just in case).

So I checked the brake fluid reservoir and it desperately needed fluid. I filled it to where it should be, and drove around my apt building's parking lot a little bit, but it still feels like I'm missing a lot of pressure on the brakes.

Maybe I'll feel more pressure once I actually start driving around?

I pumped the brakes a bit too, thinking maybe that would help restore the pressure. Didn't seem to do anything.

I'll update how actual driving feels when I come home from work later.

You need to stop driving the car until you find out what happened to your fluid.

"So I checked the brake fluid reservoir and it desperately needed fluid."

You must have a leak where you are losing a lot of brake fluid. Check all calipers and wheel cylinders and also all brake fluid lines for leaks. Also check around the master cylinder and brake booster for leaks. Repair any leak or leaks you find and then bleed all 4 brakes. You will need to bleed since the mater cylinder was so low on brake fluid that air was probably introduced in to all four brake lines.

And by all means, like 71Corolla said, stop drivng this car until the problem is found and corrected.

Mike

What they said.... Sounds like you have air in the system at this point. I suggest you start soaking the bleeders with PBBlaster since you will need to bleed the system after you fix the leak.

like everyone else said. in working on the car you could have compromised a rusty and brittle brake line. fill up the reservoir and have someone pump the brakes while you see where the leak is.

Brakes seem to be fine now... I'll have a leak checked for though. Thanks everyone!
