removing AC ?

So my condenser has multiple holes in it along with who knows whats happened to the compressor by now. And i have no desire to put out the money for redoing my AC, im in northern ontario canada and it rarely goes over 30 Celsius here so by removing the compressor and putting a smaller belt on is it going to make a noticeable increase in power and mileage and will it make a difference in the winter by not having the condenser in front of the rad for morning starts or warming up properly. I haven't ever had problems starting in the winter before using thinner oil and have a rad flush every summer.

Thanks in advance for any advice
Travis

Removing the compressor will give you basically no increase in engine power, when the compressor is not engaged it is just a bearing spinning freely. Removing the condenser will also not make any difference at all, except the hassle of doing the job. I would just leave everything the way it is.

What car do you have BTW?

Removing the compressor will result in you losing the defroster functionality. But you may have lost that already depending on how bad the system is.
