i'm installing ANZO headlights into my camry, and it has 1 ccfl halo...i think it wants me to splice into the parking lights (i'm not certain, but i think it's the corner turn signal lights?)
anyway, i'd rather have the halo on all the time, so how can i tap into the DRL wiring?
the only two wires that are/were there behind the stock headlights were 2 for the bulbs.
(DRL became highbeam upon activation)

This is for a gen 3's parking lamp, but it gives you the basic idea of what you need to do.
You could also have a switch to override the lights. In this setup, the CCFLs will only be on when BOTH the switch and parking lights are on.
Is that any help? If not, let me know!

thats a relay. youre going to need a bit of electrical knowledge to wire in DRLs.
Im now using my high beams as DRLs with a relay that switches them off when low beams come on.. pretty nifty but took some deal of knowledge to wire it up. required two relays, one from the EFI to have the lights on when the car is on and another to turn it off when low beams came on. One relay was NC and the other NO.
There's the URLs for the pics. As Iovaykind said, you're going to need to have some electrical knowledge to do this. Let us know if you have any more questions.

I wouldn't recommend doing this if you have NO IDEA what your doing. Fry your integration relay and you're SCREWED.

the headlights' CCFL halo came with TWO red wires...so i don't know which one's +/-
also came with no instructions.
and since it seems i can rewire some of the electrical stuff....can i:
1. disable the parking light so that the corner lights don't turn on with the headlights, only blink @ turn signal?
2. can i make the CCFL the parking light instead?
3. and also enable it as DRL instead?
i have a factory repair manual, but the darn thing is difficult to navigate...if someone could show me which page to look at maybe i can help myself. :P there's no index or table of contents.

CTRL+F, man. I'll have more info soon. Aka not 4:39am.

Plan ahead. Electronics IS NOT a game of chance. If you fry your integration relay, you'll be removing your dash board and passenger airbag to get at it. PITA.

Take a simple 9 volt battery and test them out. Mark each for polarity.

1) You could, but thats going to require me to develop another schematic.
2) The CCFLs will be in the headlights. Why would you want to make them the parking lights? It seems easier to put the CCFLs on their own independent switch, and wire have another switch to disable the parking lights.
3) Again, if the CCFLs are on their own switch, you could turn them on whenever you wanted.

my car's parking lights are always on...i don't know if it was meant that way, but the yellow is very ugly to me and i am very, VERY vain.
so, in the everything off position, the DRL's come on, and stay on...
next switch up, DRL stay's on, parking lights come on.
next switch up is the headlights, DRL turns off, parking lights stay on.
i actually removed the ambient light sensor by the windshield, so i am not certain how the automated function controlled the lights...but manually..as listed above.
if at all possible, i'd like to reconfigure it all. my dad's an electrician, so when in doubt, i'll give him a ring. i just need the know how.

i figure if the parking lights are always gonig to be on, i'd rather rewire it to have the halo always be on. but if i can just disable the parking light and always-on the halo, that's fine too.........

So in the first position, the parking lights are OFF. They're NOT always on.

Electricians deal with AC current. Cars use DC. But he'll be able to help out. Watch some soldering videos on youtube and what not. Read up on wikipedia.

That would work. If the parking lights were always on. They're also a safety concern. I'd leave the wonderful amber lights alone.
