Restore engine restorer-anybody using it?

Hello guys.
I want to see if anybody of you using Restore engine restorer

My coworker using it on 2006 corolla, at 100K car still runs perfect,but he also was using full syntetic oil from day one.
I want to start adding it into 2000 camry motor with 130K on it, but not sure if this thing really works.

I can say for sure: if someones promises that any kind of chemicals can "restore" your engine - it is SCAM. Period.

I've used engine restore in a 88 Mazda P/u I use to own, and I could feel a difference, as a matter of fact, I'm currently using it in my sons 00 Celica, 1zz, that consumes oil, like a fat woman loves chocolate.

I'm not sure if its helping yet, but I know it can't make it worse. I've known a few people that swear by it.

Used in my neon and made my rear main seal leak like crazy. Anything that cleans the motor can be a bad thing.

I'm pretty sure Chrysler Corp made you rear seal "leak like crazy"

i'd rather recommend stuff that is milder for the engine gaskets and seals like Auto-RX treatment for starters, but it takes lots of time and driving to get it done (2 oil change cycles).

if you still have not crazy high miles (e.g. <150k) you can try sea foam in crankcase with fresh oil and filter and then change oil again in like 50-100 miles. this stuff really works on carbon deposits, but it's nowhere near mild ... it will make you seeping gaskets leak, so be prepared to change them when time comes.
on the other hand sea foam is known for restoring some MPG and engine performance, that's a fact. most of us here tried it with some more or less satisfactory effects.

but undoubtely what works best (but slowest) is using pure synthetic engine oil and changing it at half interval (3k miles tops) for a year or so. synthetic oil will most likely discover some leaky gaskets as well if your engine is not used to running on it as dino/mineral oils have bigger particles that tend to clog minor gasket leaks - then synthetic oils have smaller particles which will flush away those "patches" ...
sea foam will do pretty much the same, just much faster (in 1 day).

ah! and switch to using some good oil filters like OEM/Denso/WIX/Mobil1/Pureone and forget all FRAM and STP...

Gotta remember that it can't ADD power that wasn't there when the car was new. But it CAN restore power.

WIX is also sold under the Napa GOLD name, if you have trouble finding them.

the reasons why I want to start using Restorer are light smoking in the morning on star up and oil consumption. Teflon particles should seal small scratches on cylinders walls and make lubrication easier.as far as I know they has nothing to do with cleaning engine or destroying gaskets.

at the same time shouldn't filter catch all this stuff "flying" in oil?

we got this camry used and obviously full synthetic oil was not used before.
no one going to race this car, but want to preserve engine for as long as possible and possibly gain some performance.

I personally know only one guy using Restorer,but he got his car almost new and using synthetic oil.
His car sure drives nice,no oil leaks or noises at 100K,but will it help on worn out engine or will it damage it even more?

I have 2 words for ya...snake oil...Nothing will fix a worn engine except actual repair. Restore is a temporary band-aid. Waste of money. Like Nike says...Just Fix It.
