3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
from my last post, I am thinking I need new struts, Ive done some searches on this site and find the "Quick-strut" Monroe or the "ready mount by Gabriel is the way for me to go, how ever finding these struts is alot harder than i thought.
after reading some posts on the gabriel "ready-mount" i thought this was the one for me, I found a site where they carry the rears in gabriels and no fronts, but they do carry the fronts in the Quick-strut monroe, the sales person suggest using the gabriels in the rear and monroe in front, im shying away from this, but thought i would pose the question, would this be a good way to go, as good as all gabriel or all monroe??? I did find a place that would order the monroes but NO one will even talk about gabriels.
went to the site sponsor "shock warehouse" looked up the monroe quick struts... they carry the fronts for a v6 car and the rears for a 4cyl ONLY, i have to be missing something cause this is way crazy, any help would be great.

Buy a set of all four, the same brand. What engine and year is your camry? I should be able to find a site for you.

Hello, I too found conflicting info for my 93 V6 Camry sedan.
I got on Monroe's website, found the customer service link, e-mailed them my vehicle specs, and they got back with the correct p/n's for all 4 corners.
Rockauto.com would also be a good place to look up part numbers.

I'll do the same about contacting the Monroe site...
Its interesting that, Ive been to a few automotive parts stores, Local ones that do a huge business in our area, one parts guy opened the monroe book and said nope no quick struts and ive never heard of them, the next place opens the same book and says yeah here they are.... these experiences says volumes about the company and employees.
Ive read on this site when doing my search that autozone and pepboys are two good places to purchase monroe or gabriel... ive checked with 4 places, 3 autozones and one pepboys NONE of them had heard of quick-struts or the gabriel ready-mount and none of them could find them in their book or computer, One of the guys says "ohh gabriel is out of business you wont find any gabriel shocks or struts any more". its just amazing to me.

Just don't let a DISTRIBUTOR ruin the experience with the COMPANY for you. '93 V6 LE wagon... Looks like part numbers are 271681 (driver rear), 271680 (pass rear), 171956 (driver front), 171955 (pass front). Looked that up on Monroe's site. I'd call them TODAY and confirm that they fit the wagon and be sure that's all you need. After that, I'd CALL advance auto and tell them to order those part numbers for you. And TELL them you want the online discount too!
Advance auto is running a 20% discount through September 6th online. Code "Labor". JUMP on that!
edit: advance 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623), monroe 1-734-384-7809 (8:30am-5:30pm EST)
