want to get 16" steelies for '96 V6, is it possible?

Hi, I've got a 96 V6 LE with 178k miles on the clock and would like to buy a set of 16" steelies and new tires to replace the stock 15" rims and my balding Falkens. I'd like to do this to reduce some sidewall height and stiffen up the ride a little bit in the process.

Looking around I'm having a hard time finding steelies in general, and am wondering if I could purchase steel rims from/for a newer model Camry and have them fit with the proper (or close enough) offset and backspacing. I'm also wondering where to purchase steel rims, as TireRack doesn't seem to sell them aside from in winter tire packages and I know of no other places to get them.

Has anybody here done this sort of change to their Camry and can I get a little advice on this undertaking ?

Check out our for sale section. Anything off a 92-2011 camry is going to fit just fine. Tire size can be checked with your OEM one here: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Sorry to get back to you in such an untimely manner but thank you for the info! I'll give the for sale section a look-see, and even though I believe I have my tire calculations correct I'll double check with the link you provided.

You should be fine with steelies off the 2007+ Camry. 215/60/16 tires. I would check Craigslist, people are always looking to get rid of them after upgrading to alloys.
