BG Frigi Clean for 99 Camry LE ?

My son's 99 Camry LE has the nasty mold & mildew smell coming through the ac vents. Condensor case drain tube is free and clear and the smell is likely from mold/mildew/fungi growth in the condensor housing. From all the research I've done it appears the best solution to eliminate this problem is to use the BG Frigi-Clean/Frigi-Fresh Kit.

This kit requires drilling into the condensor housing and injecting the foam into the case. Ideally the hole is drilled between the fan and the condensor. Has anyone used this product on a 99 Camry ? If so, exactly where on the housing did you drill the hole?

Alternatively, a ponter to a schematic of the condensor housing assembly for a 99 Camry LE 2.2L would be helpful.

just a link

Above link might help. Drill a hole? Why not turn the fan on high and spray it into the HVAC intake under the hood? I know they don't want it soaking the fan. So, throttle the cleaner so it doesn't.

In the old days, a little bleach in water with a water bottle sprayer worked fine.

Well, I had a mildew smell, do I still have it? I don't think so, I just smell the crappy left over ozium. Then again I didn't find out where it came from and just tried this.

I didn't try the frigi way, instead I went this route, and it worked I believe.

What I did (thanks to Crash and other topics) was you buy a spray (I bought Ozium...it smells like lemon, not my thing...avoid the new car smell, smells like cheap cologne) and spray it in the mesh area on the left side of the windshield...while the car is running with the outside air not recirculate, spray it in there like crazy lol, it gets really strong in your car but it goes away eventually.

To also remove the moldy smell completely, when you're about to reach your destination (5 mins or so), turn off the A/C and have the fan blow, it gives it time to remove the left over water and whatever smelly crap is in there.

I was just about to suggest Ozium. It's an air sanitizer, if you can deal with the strong lemony scent for a few days, it will dissipate and then smell like nothing. I however love the lemon scent haha.

I usually do a squirt in each vent, then about 2-3 seconds spray in the mesh for the A/C with it on.

Just to make your search a little easier--you're looking for the evaporator housing. The condenser is the bug catcher in front of the radiator.

There are also products supplied with a relatively long tube to stick up the condensate drain hose; no drilling.

Toyota used to sell TOYOGUARD a pro strength A/C power foam evaporator cleaner & refresher kit.
The old part#00050-00008 with the applicator hose was about $20. Kit included a.large can of foam (18oz), small can of vent spray (4oz), and the dispenser hose with adapters.
Spraying a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water (1 to 5 ratio/mixture) or a disinfectant like Lysol (pick a scent you like) in the outside air intake may help reduce the smell.
