Question 93 camery wont start

Let me tell you a few things about this car. It has 301k miles on it. 4 cylinder. it has been a very reliable car for us. Up until this last week. For some reason I was driving home from work and it started acting funny. It was acting like it was missing out. So I pulled over to find out and sure enough it was. But I was still able to limp it home. Once I got close to my house I noticed the temp gauge was rising really fast. I was able to get pulled over and shut off the car and a huge cloud of steam came out of the engine. I was close to my house so I just waited for about 30 minutes and was able to start it again and get it home. I then filled all the fluids in the car and changed the spark plugs and wires out. And now its not wanting to start when it is cold outside. It seems to start up just fine when it is in the middle of the day and warmer, but first thing in the morning it does not start. I thought it might have been the fuel pump and filter so I changed both of those and I am still having the same problem. It cranks but just will not fire. Does anyone have any suggestions that could help me out.

Thanks,
Mike

No the check engine light is not on and I don't know anyone who has a code checker to find out if there are any codes popping up.

Do you think the timing belt would be an issue if when the temp outside gets warmer it starts up without a problem? I'm only curious because I have no clue about how to fix cars other than the little basic knowledge.

not the belt...though you are most likely due for one.....and given limited knowledge...I would have done at a shop....shop for shops to do this...some will REALLY try and rip you off....one place I called wanted $500 FOR A 4 BANGER!!!!!!!!!! It took me 2 hours and some muscling...but got it in. But I had full complement of tools and knowledge...I was just being lazy
