Morning Problems: 97 Camry CE

Hi,

I have a 97 Toyota Camry CE (4 cyl) with about 212,000 km.

Now that the mornings have been getting chilly, I have noticed something happening to my car. When I drive my car out of my driveway, it feels as if the car is not getting gas. I am not sure if this is the problem but the sensation is that of when you're driving on a road with icey patches. Also on the first set of lights, the idle sounds rough. It fixes itself in about a minute when the engine heats up and doesn't occur until the next morning again. Not sure if this is a gas problem or a transmission problem.

Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks!

I'm not sure exactly how the weather would effect it, but it sounds like the symptoms of a nasty IAC valve. Since cleaning, unlike new parts, is free, I would clean the throttle body and IAC and see if that helps the idle. With 131k miles it probably could use it regardless.

Here's the thread from the how-to section on it..
