Two questions for which I find no useful info from a search.

The red light on the trunk of a gen 4.0 is part of the tail light circuit. The bulb there are 921. Will I gain anything by rewiring them as brake lights?

And any ideas how I can separate the lens, polish the hell out of it and retro some LEDs in them?

You can pull the taillights apart by either putting them in the oven at a low temperature, or Using a heat gun and go around the outside of the taillight. Once taken apart you can wire your LED's up.

Look at http://www.sportbikez.net/forum/f12/...-how-to-20444/ for a DIY on retrofitting LEDs into a taillight. This is on a scooter or something, but the concept is the same.

not sure what your trying to gain by re-wiring the taillights?
