3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
oil pump seal, rear main seal, thermostat, spark plugs.
It probably doesn't need the rear main, but it really is a pita to do later.
The thermostat I recommend because they have a tenancy to not work so well after sitting not used for a long period of time with the rubber seal drying out.
I've made this mistake before. Just replace EVERY seal. It's a billion times easier now. Even the rear main. If you don't, luck will have it they start to leak after you put it back in.
I would also do all the gaskets. Again, it's a lot easier right now.

Overall, not too bad - had one seized exhaust bolt that I had to cut (in a tight spot) and one very fussy CV axles that didn't want to come out, other than that, it was smooth sailing.
