acceleration sound?

i have a 93 camry le 5fse with 223k+ miles. its making a sound that a cant really describe, but i can describe what it doesn't sound like and when it happens. Its kind of a metal like fluttering noise. whatever it is it does not seem to affect performance.

IT HAPPENS WHEN:
I accelerate heavily up hill
accelerate fairly heavy after a stop or coasting

IT DOESN'T HAPPEN WHEN:
stationary revving

DOES NOT SOUND LIKE:
knocking
ticking
clicking
rumbling
grinding

DOES NOT HAVE:
rhythm
oscillation
metronomic quality

Have you had your transmission checked out ? It could be a problem with a plate or clutch. I would say its a transmission related problem

Could be pre-ignition as well, check your flex pipe for leaks

I havnt had it checked out in a while but, its been doing it for a while and is just starting to bother me. Its done it before and after a full transmission drain/fill and new strainer which i did about three months ago. and the fluid still looks good. It never feels like its slipping or losing power while making the noise either.

Well just because the fluids were changed doesn't meant that there can't be an internal transmission problem. Have your C-Forward Clutch checked out if its possible for you to do so

Please confirm that you really meant to say that you know what engine spark knock/pinging sounds like , and this isn't it. 'Cause what you're describing sound like ping.

okay you guys are right again, I listened to some clips of pinging and that is the closest to what it sounds like when under heavy load. Since this is what it may be, could my old ass spark plug wires have something to do with this? I was planning on replacing them tomorrow actually. should i maybe try i higher octane next time too to help determine this if the plug wires don't do anything?

Plugs and wires aren't the cause. Maybe carbon buildup. Maybe a bad knock sensor, if your year has one (my experience starts with 97).

You could try to run 6oz. of sea foam in your car to help clear up carbon build up.

I seafoamed not to long ago and had massive amounts of carbon burn off(first time). and after some research I have found the most probable possibilities are plugs/wires, egr valve, air intake leak, octane, carbon buildup, knock sensor. I am going to replace the old ass spark plug wires, heater hoses(not related), seafoam, and if i can find a cheaper way of replacing my fresh air intake hose which I recently discovered has a crack in it. so that will leave egr valve cleaning and knock sensor for last considering these cars are meant to run on regular unleaded.

Ok so today I temporarily plugged the air intake hose crack, replaced my plug wires and air filter (both of which needed to be done) then I seafoamed through the brake booster and put some in the gas tank, then filled up at shell with regular unleaded. it still seems to be making the noise especially when im going 30-35 on flat ground and I let off the gas to coast for a second then give it a little gas, it makes the noise for just a second and then goes away and I can do this over and over again. its a very faint pinging like noise so faint that there is no way i could record it from inside the car.

I noticed a noise today from under the car and it definantly sounds like there may be a leak coming from the flex pipe. Why would this maybe be the source of the problem?

well, op said he thought it could be ping from detonation. One of the most common causes for that on a stock (ish) motor is carbon-buildup in the cylinders - seafoam will clean that crap out
