3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I wanted to get a good coat of wax on my baby before it gets too cold, and definitely before winter. I washed, waxed, and buffed her. Ok, it's just a cheap random orbit "buffer".
I liked the results so much, on my 15 year old car, I had to share it. Oh well, here is the result:
BTW, I know I'm not a photographer, so forgive me if the pics sucks.
I'd like to replace my current fog lights with the fogs off of a 90-91 Celica, but they're so damn expensive and hard to find. Oh there are so many things I want to do, but they all cost $$$.

Very nice! Looks like you did a great job! Not only with the polishing, but with the photos too . I was hoping to polish my Corolla this weekend but it has decided to rain . I'll use this thread as an incentive for next weekend

Thanks guys. As bad as it sounds, I spent over 5 hours today between washing, waxing, wheels, windows, and Armour All. In the end I think it was worth it

I hope you did all the prep work to those two parts yourself. From what I've heard MAACO doesn't like to prep anything. They'll even paint over trim and key holes cause they don't want to tape them off. But I've also heard that if you prep everything yourself MAACO is decent, and dirt cheap.

Thanks, those are about the best photos I'll ever take. Some might say that I have NO artistic abilities.
I don't know much about the climate in New Zealand, but if they use as much salt on the roads in the winter as they do here in Pennsylvania you'll definitely want a good coat of wax before every winter. I also wax it in the spring cause I know it will see a lot of miles over the summer.

I too feel the effects of a good washing while driving. Most people will say it's all in my head, but I'll attribute it to decreased wind resistance with all of that dirt gone.

Thanks. The rims are stock rims from a Hyundai Tiburon. They fit perfectly and I got a deal on them 5 years ago. And yeas I do have hub-centric rings for them.
The drop is from Intrax springs and KYB GR-2 struts. I initially had Drop Zone DZ-Sport springs, but they had the infamous "uneven" drop. After I made a thread here spring of '07 about spring options someone posted a pic of a gen 3 on Intrax with what looked like an even drop, so I bought Intrax. IMO they're worth every penny. They aren't quite as stiff as the popular H&R or Eibach, but it's a nice combo of comfort for when I just want to chill, and performance for when I want to wear down my tires on the twisties.
BTW, the Intrax drop is 1.6" front, 1.5" rear. The rear springs are progressive and the front springs are linear.

^ grew up in Manheim Township, but I've been out in Pittsburgh since fall of '06 for college. I'm only ever in Lancaster over school breaks and holidays. I might be back towards Lancaster over Thanksgiving, and definitely the last 2 weeks of December.
If I'm made aware of any meet near Lancaster over Thanksgiving break, or winter break I'd definitely try to make it.
But I do need to make it to some Toyota meet. In Lancaster, as I'm sure you know, most people are all about VW and Audi. It's hard to try to pass my self as a car guy in that crowd driving a Camry.

Fortunately it doesn't snow where I live (Auckland) so there's no salt to worry about. Further down the line it does though, so I can imagine what they go through with corrosion. It's spring here right now so I really want to give it a wax and polish before Christmas arrives (which over here is in summer). Hopefully it'll come up as good as yours

Kiwi-corolla - hello fellow kiwi! I lived in the south island for most my life - they only use gravel (and occassionaly sand which obviously has salt, but thats more rarely used). Btw nice lil Rolla you got there, I have a rolla too - AE82 liftback but tis currently off the road no road-worty (RWC/WOF) or reg. But its runnin ok apart from batt. light being on!!!! I miss drivin that lil car cos of its economy and pick-up/acceleration.....
