Hi, I got a chance to get my hands on relocation brackets for the front calipers.. got a few questions. I have an I4, do I need to get my hands on the V6 calipers for it to work the supra TT rotors? Also.. what year am I looking at for the rotors for the supra, is it from 93-98 or can it be newer years? thanks guys.. searched around and these were the only questions I had left
Question for bigbird :
Did you notice a decrease in acceleration from the heavier, larger TT rotors?
You need the V6 front calipers (either single or dual piston... doesn't matter), the relocation brackets, and the TT rotors. The rotors are from the USDM MKIV Supra... so 93-98. You'll also need a new copper bolt for the brake line where in connects to the caliper. It's like a $2-5 part.
Be aware that you may have to grind the heads on some of the bolts for everything to clear.

I'm FASTTTTTT. He'll also need 17" wheels MINIMUM since the rotors are 13+ inches in diameter. Even then some 17" wheels don't like to clear the caliper due to design.
edit: Dual piston calipers are found on ABS equipped camrys and all ES300s.

darn.. might not be worth the upgrade with my tight budget at this point.. maybe later then. thanks for the info guys.. still wanna find out if there's a noticeable decrease in acceleration and pretty sure only bigbird can answer that as he has it and still uses the car as a DD!
not trying to hijack, put is there anyway to upgrade brakes with 14"s? or not really?
Noooope. You'll have to run 15" wheels to clear a stock V6 front setup.

I got the 17" wheels.. so a couple of things are complicating it.. 1, not having the assurance if it will clear, and 2 needing the v6 calipers (which means different caliper brackets too right?), and 3.. my wheels are already heavy, heavy TT rotors will make my I4 even slower than it already is
btw lynch, are the rotors for i4 and v6 the same? just different calipers?
^nvm lynch haha reading the sticky over again sheds new light every time..

I've never heard of anyone having any issues with clearance. It's just a fair warning. As always, THE BRACKETS usually COME WITH THE ROTORS! The weight issue.... ehhhh, i dunno.

just saw them on solarguy and it was only the brackets.. no calipers with them
also saw someone else complaining about the weight issue and how it bogged down acceleration so wasn't sure if he was just being a whiner or if it was actually true. y'know i can't afford losing acceleration on this grandma car already

Did someone say "weight reduction"?
Found this on an M3 forum - and I'm trying to find a way put together a cheaper CCM brake set instead of paying four-figures to do so.
On a Camry, they would last almost indefinitely...Every once in a great while someone will offer a CCM rotor on Ebay for varying prices, but finding two even used and uncracked CCM rotors is not easy. Get the rotors and find the right hats and pads, then adapt calipers to work or modify the existing ones...
It's just that materials science is NOT QUITE THERE YET for this to be affordable/practical for everyday cars, but everyone who has made the change (mostly in $60K plus sports cars) likes the difference in handling, braking/acceleration. Plus, most people would NEVER have to replace tehir brakes again (imagine that)
This rotor measures 355mm X 25mm (~13.5" X 1"); a 4-cylinder Camry could theoretically use a 275mm X 25mm rotor (since it's much lighter and not as fast as an m3 (usually)). A 275mm rotor and hat may weigh as little as 6-7lbs each...pure INSANITY!!!

if i were you, i wouldnt bother with the supra upgrade. unless you get the light weight ones i can vouch that the supra rotors are much heavier then stock V6 ones and their only real benifit is when stopping at high speeds and looks. slow speed stops are nearly unchanged.
i would do the V6 brake upgrade and if ya havnt done so, convert from drum in the rear. if ya want you can talk to "4cyl'erthriller", he has done it and like the improvement on the 5s.
OH and youll need a grinder to shave some meterial from the caliper brackets (not ericsol, stock) so the rotors will clear. its just a gen3 issue. and as far as 17? some clear, some dont. my old 17s wouldnt fit but these do...barely. looks cool but any smaller and they would rub the calipers. hell you can see how huge the rotors are in my sig pic.
It's a little bit bigger. You can see exact sizes if you go to any online parts store.
I'm gonna research different options for the Supra TT rotors.
edit: They're a few companies that make Supra TT carbon ceramic rotors. Costs for FRONT ROTORS ONLY is around $5000. Yeah... not happening. (Stoptech and THIS company.)
