4th Generation Tires for my Gen 4

Just got my TRD lip kit painted and ready to install but i wanna put my wheels on at the same time and i'm not sure what size tries to buy. The wheels are 16"x7" BBS wheels with a 40mm offset. I was hoping to run 225/50-16 tires. Does anyone know if this combination would work? Thanks guys.

That combination will definitely fit the rims.. are you asking if they'll bolt right onto your car? I'm guessing it will be REALLY closely to rubbing, if not rubbing the strut already. You'll probably need spacers, but why such wide tires? I'd go with 215.. I even went with 205 for mine.. helps with gas mileage

Does anyone know for sure if they will fit? I know there is a possibility that they could rub, thats why i posted this. I want to know if anybody has used this size with this offset before.

When I had my springs/struts on the car, I had 17x7 +45 with 215/50/17 and very little rubbing if any.

I'd also recommend that you "miata.net tire calc" and compare the sizes youre looking at with your current size.

tires for my Gen 4

I've lowered the car with a set of Tein S-tech springs and would really like the new wheel/tire combination to be about the same height as the stock 14's. So i have decided that i will definitely be going w/a 205/55-16 OR a 225/50-16. I was just really hoping someone on here may already have experience with these sizes on this car...again 16"x7" wheel w/a 40mm offset...

40mm offset is fine. You MIGHT rub in the rear a tiny bit. Just set aside some extra cash in case you need a pair of spacers for the rear.
