Disconnected connector

I have a 93 Camry XLE V6 with the hydraulic fan. The other night the power steering failed as I was going around a corner and then it overheated, blowing coolant all over. This sounds like something affecting the power steering pump. As I have been troubleshooting, I noticed a wire between the engine and the fan that was disconnected and I'm wondering if it is related. This is two wires, brown and black/yellow going into a round white plastic connector. The wires have a black tube over them, presumably to keep them from touching the block. I can't see where they come from. And ideas about where this should be plugged in and if it is related to the steering/fan failure?

I know the connector you mean, mine has it too. It is not used and is just left hanging. The cooling fan is driven by the power steering pump. The pump has 2 circuits, one for the hydraulic fan motor, the other for the power steering rack. If it lost its power steering fluid, the fan will not work. This will cause the engine to overheat. Fix your leak and you should be fine.
