92 Camry Low Idle

Hello, I am new to the forum! I just bought a 92 camry with the 2.2. At idle in gear the car vibrates. If i touch the gas just a bit, the vibration goes away. I want to turn the idle up just a bit and was wondering how I could do that. Any tips, or even pictures on how to adjust idle would be great. Thanks in advance!!

On the throttle body there's a stop screw you can turn to raise the idle, BUT you should probably solve the actual problem instead.

What are you idling at? It might just be bad engine mounts.

It is idling around 700. As soon as I barely touch the gas, the vibration goes away. It doesnt vibrate any other time unless idle goes under 800. Thanks!

Idle is supposed to be 750 +/- 50 RPM so to adjust it, grab two 12mm wrenches and find where your throttle cable runs to your throttle body (Press the gas pedal and see where it connects .. this is your throttle body) Loosen both sides and tighten the inner side (Towards where the spring and stuff is) up a couple turns. Tighten the back nut up and try it. Keep adjusting until you get your desired throttle.

Note: Do this when the engine is at normal operating temperature

Some vibration at idle on the gen 3 (92-96) 5SFE engine is normal. It will get a bit worse as more electrical items are turned on, like the fan and the headlights. The vibration stops if the A/C is turned on and the system slightly raises the idle. I am the original owner of a 94 5SFE Camry and it has vibrated slightly at idle since new. Drove several other new 5SFE engines at the dealer at that time and they all did this. If the fix Mister_Perkins has suggested doesn't help, I would consider it normal.

3rd Generation Stupid Camry always shaking!

Mine 1994 5S-FE doing the same (no difference on gasoline and also after switch to LPG fuel).
Idle seems to be perfect (750±50 RPM), but entire car is shaking!
When I touch the gas pedal and increase speed a bit (to ~850) engine starts to working quiet and very gently.
Nothing changed after replacing engine oil + new sparks + new HV wires.
