2001 camry valve cover gasket sealing

2.2 litre.replaced the gasket but it leaks worse than the old one.need step by step instructions.I am under the impression that silicon is needed in the gasket grove on the cover and in the corners where the head is rounded for the cams,but not sure.thanks

When i change my valve cover, I always put a thin strip of RTV silicone around groove on my valve cover. After that I push the new gasket into the valve cover and wipe any excess rtv off, let the RTV Dry, then Tighten down. Let motor heat up to normal operating temp, then re-torque again. i think its like 15lbs or Something
