In the US the Gen4 specified oils are 5W-30 and 10W-30. I'd say Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 10W-30 should work fine. We find these at the local Walmart at about the same price as the "dino" oils.

Dealers here sometimes sell 10W-40 for "older" engines. However, I'd use Valvoline MaxLife 10W-30 instead.

If a xW-40 weight is specified in your area, or if your engine is consuming oil, then Mobil-1 0W-40 would be an excellent synthetic oil to use.

Use a good filter, like Purolator PureOne.

I wouldn't use the AC UltraGuard even if it has less differential pressure. I don't think it filters very well.

depending on what type of oil you are used to run in the car (conventional vs synthetic) you might want to try the Mobil1 0W-30 Advanced Economy instead of regular 5W-30 or 10W-30, unless car consumes oil, then go for 40 weight or High Mileage version as suggested above.

just remember that if your car used to run dino oils only (conventional) it helps to mask some gasket/seals problems and when you switch to thinner synthetic oils (particle size makes the difference) the seals might start seeping or leaking. be careful.

0W-30 is fully compatible with 5W-30 (which supersedes the 10W-30).
