4th Generation Need others opinions

OK so i blew the 3.0l v6 that came in the car. I would love to replace it with the 4.0v6 from the 4runner and convert to RWD, or do a MR2 swap. What do u guys think bout then 2 options

Fitting a 4.0 into a camry would be realllllllly hard. Making a drive shaft and axle fit in the rear would be even harder.

Try a 3.3, they shouldn't be to hard to find nowadays.

You'd be better off with the MR2 swap - the 5SFE or 3SGTE motor would bolt in easy enough, but the final drive ratio would be LOWER (numerically higher). Power would still be less than having the V6 unless you enhanced the 3SGTE with more boost, etc

Switching to a 4-cylinder motor in itself will make the car much lighter, and make it handle better - there are many options depending on what you want out of the car!

I saw a Honda prelude with an H22 and a CRV AWD Transmission mounted to the h22, Ford Rear End. Front motor mounted H22, RWD. It was sweet.

He used the exhaust channel down the middle for the drive shaft, and made the exhaust real thin and wide ran two separate exhausts down either side of the exhaust channel. Pretty wicked car.

He was trying to sell it a couple months ago for $15,000.00 on ebay. I don't think he ever sold it though

It was also listed in Superstreet Magazine as well.

Anything is possible if you have the money and time for custom fabrication

He spent over 60k on that ish.

He spent over 60k on a Honda @#$%^&! Prelude.

I would much rather spend that money on a brand new already RWD luxury sedan that's faster stock.

hehehe . I agree 100% . If I had all the parts on hand and some time (Picked parts up real cheap used) I may do something like that. But I never expect to convert a camry to RWD. Waste of time / Money In my eyes. I'de rather spend $15,000 or $60,000 on a really nice car or truck

No offense intended OP but if you have to even ask questions when considering doing a RWD swap on a FWD car... you probably don't possess any of the skills needed to pull of such a huge task.

That would be a major complete redesign of the vehicle.
