My new used 98 Camry wont start!

Hello, first post here.
So i just purchased this 1998 Camry V6. It wasnt starting when i bought it. The previous owner had broken a spark plug in the head and had gotten fustrated while working on it....so he sold it to me as is.
I fixed the spark plug issue but the car wont start.
The engine will turn/crank but wont turn on.
There is spark at the spark plug but i dont think there is fuel. When i turn the key, i cant here the fuel pump. I checked the fuel pump by directly connecting the battery to the fuel pump and it worked so i know the pump is good but some how, power is not reaching the pump.
So i checked the EFI fuse/relay and that is also good.

Im wondering if there is another relay or sensor that i could check like a crank position sensor or something else. Or could the ECM be the culprit?

Is there an easy way to check fuel pressure on this car? I never learned how to check fuel pressure. do i need any tools that i can get at the local parts store?

Any ideas?
Thanks for your time.

Get a multimeter and see if theres voltage getting to the fuel pump WHILE its installed. Also check that the fuel injectors are receiving pulse (with a multimeter, again). That's about all the help I can offer.

Check the following before checking fuel pressure:

• Fusible link
• Fuses (AM2 30A, EFI 15A, IGN 7.5A)
• EFI main relay (You've already checked this)
• Fuel pump (Test Below)
• Wiring connections (Wiggle the wires make sure connections are tight to fuel pump, injectors)

Fuel Pump Test:

connect terminals +B and FP of the data
link connector 1 using a wire.

Turn ignition on. (DO NOT START MOTOR)

Check that there is pressure in the hose from the fuel
filter.
HINT: At this time, you will hear fuel return noise.

Turn ignition off

Remove the wire from +B and FP

If you cannot feel fuel pressure or hear fuel pump, go to next step
====

To check the fuel pressure, you will need a fuel pressure gauge (available at your parts store for rent). You will need a Gauge with a Banjo Adapter.

Loosen the bolt on the fuel filter, remove the banjo bolt, remove the line that runs to the fuel rail.

Install your Gauge with Banjo fitting.

Re-install banjo bolt (Leave the line to fuel rail disconnected)

Connect terminals +B and FP of the data
link connector 1 once again.

Turn ignition on.

Monitor fuel pressure

Fuel pressure:
265 – 304 kPa (38 – 44 psi)
If pressure is high, replace the fuel pressure regulator.
If pressure is low, check the following parts:
• Fuel hoses and connections
• Fuel pump
• Fuel filter
• Fuel pressure regulator

Thanks for the help so far guys!

I have checked the following and all are good...

1. EFI Main Relay
2. EFI fuse
3. AM2 fuse
4. Tested Fuel pump by connecting it straight to the battery. The pump turned on. Is this an ok way to test it? Im also gonna check the resistance (ohms) between terminals 4 and 5 on the fuel pump. This manual that i just got says it should be between 0.2 and 3.0 ohms. If not then it says to replace.

In a few minutes, im going to check the Ignition fuse and the Circuit Opening Relay with my tester.

Mister Perkins,
I'm not familiar with fusible links. Where are those located?

Also, im not familiar with immobilisers. Could this be causing the problem also? The battery may have gone dead at one point in September.

Thanks again.
