I've caught Honda Accord tonight. Seems to me my wagon is totaled. Fu@@ing sh@@! So pissed! So much efforts, time and money were spent to restore the wagon!
I was driving back home on DC's beltway when traffic suddenly stopped. I was able to stop in time, but the Accord followed me did not. It speed was really high - the keys just flew away from the ignition lock!!! And ash tray and cupholders too. Now my back really hurts. I think it is totaled. I definitely will buy it back from them and probably will part it out. Life sucks.

That's about 80% cosmetic I wouldn't worry about it too much - I bet the Accord is faring much worse though

Yeah, the air bags deployed on Accord.... The worst thing about my car is bent left rear quarter panel (3rd photo). And don't forget it is 200+K 15 y.o. car, so it will be definitely totaled.
I'll go to doctor, definitely. Unfortunately my other car is in the process and not drivable either (however, I'll be able to make it drivable during weekend). I'll borrow a car from my friend for now...

If this is the car you just finished rebuilding, don't let all your hard work and money go to waste. Fix it! Why do you think I have done so many engine swaps and transmission pulls? Because they're fun? No. Because once I did the manual conversion, I decided that I had too much work put in to let it all die. I'm gonna be pulling that engine out this weekend for the 5th or 6th time (lost count).
That wagon is NOT NOT NOT going to waste. Hell. I might just have to buy the hold thing off of you.
That quarter panel damage is what gets me. Tricky to fix things like that. At least you're okay. Dang.

Yikes! Glad you're alright, but first order of business is the get yourself checked out by a doctor, and tell him ANYTHING you feel tomorrow morning. This could be useful for insurance purposes. Make sure you are 100% physically OK and ready to go!
Now, the car. I assume you have a police report concluding that the other driver was to blame? The bad: Bumper and tailgate are gone, and the damage behind that is unknown at this point. Also, as you noted, the driver quarterpanel is bent. That being said, if insurance will let you, take it to a couple of shop and get some estimates. A proper estimate takes time. If they only look at it and give you a quick estimate, that won't fly. A proper shop will AT LEAST put it up on a lift and take pictures to get a full idea of the damage. The shop that did my body repairs back in the day took ~30 minutes to inspect that car on a lift before coming back in to write up for the parts, so that should give you an idea.
The good: It just may be repairable depending on what shop you go to and how much recycled/non-new/aftermarket parts they decide to use...

Very unfortunate. Get some rest and fix it right... You can get it fixed but it will likely take a while. All the best and keep us posted. The biggest gift this car gave you was immense expertise on working on a yota. Lets feel good about it!

Thank you, guys... Tailgate and bumper themselves will be very hard to find, especially of the same color. If color is not the same when paint will be involved and this means "very expensive". Plus that quarter panel, and - correct - unknown damage under the bumper. It is totaled (at least from insurance point of view), I am 100% sure.
I have not decided yet what to do. It runs fine (I drove about 25 miles from the accident place home) just wind noise is annoying (because of tailgate). I will not give it to insurance company, this is for sure. Most likely I'll part it out, but will see.

Police report will be ready in 5-10 days.... As to estimates: if they gonna total it they won't bother to make detailed estimation...

There are literally a dozen wagons at the junkyard I always go to. A few in your color too.
Honestly, I doubt there's frame damage...
Just remove the interior panel to push the quarter panel back out (might want a shop to do that) and then a new bumper, bumper cover, and rear liftgate. Your taillights didn't even get cracked!
