I had the same problem! It caused my engine to overheat like hell. I will post pics soon on how to make them both spin when the engine is turned on.

Step 1:
turn off the engine go under the hood.
Step 2:
Driver side radiator should have this power connection

Step 3:
Disconnect that, and turn the car on without the engaging the engine

wow my hand is big lol

ULAWE... that's just sidestepping the problem.

MBBA... Searching SIMPLE terms is usually what helps. I just searched the word "fans" and got some hits. Take a look. (You might also want to try other words like "overheat".)

Solara Radiator Fans
Temperature Gauge Rises??? Please respond
Only high speed radaitor fan working
Overheating: becoming an issue

IMO, this sounds like a sensor/electrical problem. But in this case it's beyond my skills to really call it anything.

i think i found the problem of fan running late temp. above 3/4 guage, but problem i need solution ...... when i run the car at normal temp thats 1/2, stoped and checked the radiator heat with my hand , the upper was very hot and the lower was hot not that much like upper.....that means the temp switch is not starting untill the lower is real hot meaning by that time the temp in upper rad is already near boiling 3/4..... any ideas please, before i start changing the rad....thanks all

sounds like a thermostat problem. I would suggest replacing it with a new OEM one with new gasket.

I think the difference in coolant temperature between upper and lower hose should be small, maybe 10F degrees or even less once the thermostat is opened fully...

Yeahhhhh without the tstat it will never get to normal operating temps. I have this problem on my 94 right now, tstat is either stuck open or missing.

What's the average air temp in the UAE? Do you ever need the heater?

That's what I thought. You don't need the thermostat, but I'd replace it anyway.

running a vehicle without a thermostat can cause a hot spot in the coolant system that can lead to a blown head gasket.
