Left Rear Tire Rubbing Strut-HELP!

Hi:
I drove my 94 Coupe tonight and noticed a weird noise. The left rear strut is rubbing the bottom of the strut (the spring perch). I replaced the struts five years ago and can't find any physical damage to them. I jacked the car up and removed the rear wheel. I can't find what's wrong. The spring is intact! I did notice that the strut rod bushing is cracked where it mounts to the wheel assy. Would this really cause this to happen? Or could the spring perch have gotten weak and bent downward? I put a big pry bar between the tire and strut and tried to bend the perch upwards. I didn't make a big difference. Could a failed wheel bearing cause this? There was no bearing noise before this happened. I have searched and searched this forum and can't find any info. Any help would be appreciated, I need my car! Thanks.

Ok. I have been laying in my cold, dark driveway for hours now. I think that it could be a wheel bearing issue. The left rear side seemed a little loose last time I rotated the tires. I didn't get around to changing the hub assy. I did on the right side when this symptom showed up. I jacked up the car again and spun the wheel. The bearing sounds suspect, it makes a very slight growling noise. I set the car down and rocked it from the left side putting pressure on the left rear rim. It definitely feels like a loose bearing. If I had a massive bearing failure, could this change the geometry of the rear wheel enough to make the strut rub? I could imagine that if the bearing failed badly enough, it could be cause the spindle to bend and change the angle of everything. Help guys...I really need it. Thanks
