Passenger Window

Hello Everyone! I have used this website so many times for all my Camry needs. I have a 96 le v6 wagon and the Right front passenger window will go down. It will go up if I unplug the battery and wait a couple min. I have unplugged the window switch to prevent passengers that don't know about the problem from lowering the window. I have replaced the regulator and it seems to be doing the same thing (wont go back up). Could this be something to do with the wiring in the door? Maybe its stretched?

Then the left side rear passenger side window doesn't go down or up at all. Doesn't budge. Any help would be great Thank You!

Time to check the wiring in the door! Take a multimeter and test the points. Also check for breaks in the wiring in the rubber boots where the wires come into the door from the body. You also may want to try cleaning the window switches themselves. Check the DIY sticky on the main page for info.

I haven't checked the wiring yet but Is it a good indication that a new regulator is needed if the window doesn't go up or down at all wiht no noise? What is a good way to clean the switches? Thanks for the help.

Another Question: Would it be possble that the problem is the master switch? Or would that be only true if non of the windwos worked? To be clear, My drivers side window works fine but the front passangers and rear left passengers does not. The left back passengers works great.

My first guess would be regulator. You said that you already replaced that (do you know that your replacement regulator works?). Next I would replace the motor. It may be overheating and shutting off.

fffloooaaatttiiinnggg grounds will be forseeeeen.

lol.

Our camrys have a floating ground system, where the ground wire switches in whatever direction the switch is pushed. direction up goes to one ground, direction down goes to a completely separate ground.

Do like lynch said and test the outputs of the switches. If the regulator and motor are new, Its more than likely a wiring issue.

Exactly. DO NOT replace the regulator again! Grounds and bad switch contacts are more likely. CHECK THE DIY FOR WINDOW SWITCH CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS.
