3rd Generation Clunk!

I have 96 v6 LE Wagon with 199,671 on the clock. When the car is started in the morning and it goes into first gear I hear and feel a loud clunk! sound from my feet area. I have read on here that this could be a motor or trany mount porblem. Any ideas?

Could be your high idle speed when the car is first started cold, too.

So would the solution be to let it warm up more or install a remote starter?

So the clunk is when you shift from P to D? How about P to R?
How about when it is warmed up?

I have a little bit of a harsh shift from P to D when cold. I usually let the car run a little bit until the rpms drop to around 1300 before shifting out of P. Another thing that I have found that helps is going from P to N for a brief moment before going to D.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, join the wagon crew!
