4th Generation gen 4 to 4.5 headlight conversion pics and a question

not sure if I have the wires going to the right bulb. when its on low beam both lights come on, and high beam only the center comes on (but brighter). or should it be only the outer lights for highbeam?

anywho, it was a lot more diffacult then I expected. I had to do a lot of cutting on my 97 camry to get the 00-01 headlights to fit, then convert the wires from a 3 wire single bulb system to a dual bulb 4 wire system. but the look makes it all worth it.

looks awesome. I always liked the gen4.5 headlights and bumber. I think your topic is off. Its should be gen4 to gen4.5 headlight conversion. How long did it took you to finish. Love it.

oh crap! got my generations wrong! let me fix that.

the install didn't take long. I used a sawsall to cut away enough to get them to fit then spliced the wires. I got new connectors at the parts store so it was really easy.

so let me ask you, since you have an 00 camry. what bulb is lit when the high beams are on? inner or outter?

Sorry for the late reply. had classes back to back and each is 1 hr 50 min long. For some reason these camry years their high beam is our day time running light. The high beam bulb is the closest one to the grill. Low beam will be nearest to the signal corner light. When its dark, the low beam should come on automatically. Yes your pictures are correct.

I always like halos better closer to the parking lights but maybe that's just me. IDK if the parking lights also double as turn signals but on the gen 3 they don't so with halos i'd rather just disconnect the parking light so in the dark you can only see the halos

I could have wired it to blink with the turn signal, but I figured steady on would be better. there are plenty of options depending on your personal taste.

no, i didn't mean the halos being used as turn sginals.. i meant turning off the parking light so only the halos woudl be steady on, and not halos + parking lights. if the parking lights are used as turn signals, then disregard what i said. personal taste like you said, i like having ONLY halos on if I have them on the car. looks good btw.. can't wait to see the bumper painted

mmm, now you got me thinking.
maybe cutting out the running lights would be a nice look. only use the side markers for directionals.

I was going to do what you did, cut my bumper to fit the 01 lights. but the halos looked ricey to me. just personal opinion. so i did a retrofit.

FX35 w/ FX R lenses. 85122 bulbs w/ denso ballasts.

second one is with switchback LEDs. taken with iphone 4, so it looks blue, it's white IRL.
white when on driving / parking mode. amber off when turning.

I had a old retro with halos that i connected to the parking lights. so when the parking lights were on, the halos were also on. parking lights off, halos off. just like yours.
