First check to see if the cv joint is clicking by making tight turns in an empty parking lot. If you hear clicking then you
have to get rebuilt or new halfshafts.
Rebuilt of OEM halfshafts and new aftermarket ones now carry lifetime warranty. So take your pick. Some prefer dealer parts, that's fine too, but those do not carry lifetime warranty.
As far as rebuilding your halfshaft it does take time to carefully clean the needle bearings and put everything back. Autozone should have the special clamp pliers in their free loaner tool program. I would disassemble the outer joint, but that takes a puller or brass hammer. And you need to torque the axle nut to spec or risk damaging the wheel bearing later.
