coolant leak

95 2.2 with about 100k miles.

over the past few months Iv noticed my coolant reservoir would slowly go down over a month, from the full line to low in about a month (~1200 miles ish).

today while mounting up my winter wheels i noticed a table spoon sized puddle on the ground and found this, it looks like the gasket or seal on the water pump??

I had the timing belt, water pump, pulleys ect replaced a little over a year ago.

anybody know what the issue is? i hope it isnt the pump.

Can't say for sure where its leaking from...but do a wipe down and dry everything off. Turn on the car to see where the leak comes from. Maybe then you'll know what part to replace or you can give us an update.

eh, not likely. You would likely see over-heating before a gasket blowing out from a stuck thermostat.

Probably the little O-Ring above the bypass pipe

G3059-56768 o-ring

If your replacing that though, you might as well spend a couple extra dollars and just replace both

Maybe even a local dealer might be better?

I don't know, maybe packages in Alaska come on sleds towed by husky dogs.
