lol That was the selling point. I was looking it over and almost didnt get it, then looked inside and was like 500 bucks. He immediately said yes so that was nice i didnt have to haggle. He said it wouldnt pass inspection because the speedometer didnt work, but he failed to realize the VSS Was disconnected. lol

Yeah it needs quite a few things. A Torque converter being the biggest thing. But I have a spare 92 A140E thats been sitting for over 5 years. I'll just change the seals out and replace the whole transmission. The a140e i have has under 100,000 miles on it too
Had a starting problem. Pulled the lower dash apart and noticed there was some sort of weird relay spliced into the ignition wires. So I was like huh. Well apparently they thought there was a problem with the wiring so they hooked a relay up so that it would crank over correctly. Only it didn't.
They were correct though in there was a wiring problem, but it was simply just the contacts on the NSS not making a contact.
Replaced the NSS problem solved.

next, I moved onto the doors to figure out what was going on with the wiring. Pulled all door panels off, connected switches up to them and checked them out. Drivers side front regulator cable is broke, passenger side front is fine. Passengers rear motor was disconnected, connected and noticed the regulator wires there were broke too. Drivers side rear motor has voltage through the switch in both directions, but doesn't move.
So in short, i need 3 window regulators.

Next i wanted to further investigate the transmission so I connected TE1 and E1 terminals and checked for transmission codes. I got Code 61
So the first thing I did was swap out the VSS with a known good one
cleared codes and code still showed up
Next, I decided to swap out the ECM / Speed control computers with known good ones.
Cleared codes and code still showed up.
Next, I checked the wiring between VSS#2 and the ECM.. They were good, no breaks.
So this indicates to me that there is an internal problem on the transmission.
I am glad that I figured that out because I really didn't want to change the transmission unless I had to.

anyone know if the VSS is different between a 92 LE and 92 XLE? On Rock Auto it lists the XLE Speed Sensor for $153.00 and the LE for $105.00 ?? Doesn't make sense
They both look exactly the same. the one I swapped in was from a 92 LE

They should be the same, if both engines are the same.
well 92-93 camry have two Vehicle Speed sensors, in 94-95 they changed the design to one speed sensor. they are both labeled the same transmissions though.
That's why I am asking, because the XLE model may have a different designed VSS. I think they are the same, but just wanted to make sure

I'm think they're the same. the only difference i see between the LE and XLE models are the fancier interior of the XLE.

xle has abs block with rear disc, drivers side door has a lighted keylock mechanism, the integration relay is different, Dashboard has electronic heater function, has heated seats.
I'm pretty sure its the same too, but like I said theres stuff that is different so it wouldn't surprise me if the transmission electronics are different.
I also noticed the 92 LE and 92 XLE computers have different numbers on them. So does the speed control computer

Figured I'de post this video up for you all.
Bad IAC and Dogbone motor mount.
Vibrates worse than a Jackhammer..lol you can hear the door shaking at the beginning really badly
You cant really see it, but the motor is vibrating a ton at idle. This is cold start btw. When warm idle is a little better.
I disconnected the IAC and noticed no change in idle either
