Headlight restoration kit used on Gen 4.

I went ahead and bought a headlight restoration kit to see if it'll work like people said it would and also would save me the trouble of shelling out an additional $100 for a new pair of headlights. Well, I'm pretty surprised how well it worked and now have a set of clear lenses.

Those kits do work if you have the right patience and tools needed for the job.. of course brand new headlights will always be better, but this goes to show that you don't need to dish out a lot of money to fix the haze.

yup hehe. i fixed pretty much same terribly hazed headlights on my all cars with Turtle Wax Headlight Restoration kit (a few bucks in local autozone).

takes about 5-10 minutes per light and results are amazing. though it gets worse a little in a week or so when the protective wax layer gets washed out with rain or so.

I used the traditional sanding method from 400 grit to 2000 grit. To protect, I used Meguiar's Plast-X. It still hasn't gone yellow even after a year! And yes, patience is a must especially during sanding.

Toothpaste and a buff ball on a drill works pretty well too.

I bought the 3M brand lens restoration kit. It comes with rubbing compound, 6 1200 grit pads, 6 1800 grit pads, one buffering pad, and a polishing pad. Works straight on your drill. Worked pretty well.
