Tire Size Help

Its almost time for me to get new tires.... My wheels are the OEM Lexus GS300 16x7.5. The OEM tire size is 215/60/16. I get a bit of rubbing in the front when I turn the wheel all the way.

I found some new tires by a private owner that bought a set which doesn't fit. The deal is great and the tires are pretty good. The only issue is that they are 205/55/16. So they are smaller. Does anyone have experience or know whether these will fit my wheels?

Here is a calculation of the size differences:

Tire Size Comparison
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
215/60-16 5.1in 13.1in 26.2in 82.2in 771 0.0%
205/55-16 4.4in 12.4in 24.9in 78.2in 811 -4.9%

Thank you!

There is good info on tires and rims here:

I used the rim calculator and got your ideal rim width for the 205/55-16 is 7".

Thanks for the link. It looks like a 205 should fit a 7.5 rim okay. 205 is about 8 inches.
